Natural-Looking Rejuvenation With Botox

You have just had your teeth whitened, or a chipped front tooth rebuilt, and the result is good. But when you look in the mirror you notice the lines around your mouth, or that your lip disappears when you smile, or that your smile shows more gum than tooth.

Your teeth are only part of what people see. The lips, the muscles around the mouth, and the shape of the lower face all frame a smile, and no amount of dental work addresses those directly. Cosmetic Botox does.

We offer cosmetic Botox as a finishing treatment for the area we already know better than anyone: the mouth and the muscles that surround it. Our approach here is the same as everywhere else in this practice. We examine, we explain what is realistic, and you decide.

Cosmetic Botox Treatments We Offer

Every area below is treated with small, precisely placed doses. The goal is a softer, more balanced result, not a face that looks worked on.

Gummy Smile Correction

If your upper lip lifts higher than average, it can expose more gum when you smile. A small dose of Botox relaxes the muscle that raises the lip, helping show more tooth and less gum for a more balanced smile.

Lip Flip

A lip flip uses a small amount of Botox to relax the upper lip muscle, allowing the lip to gently roll outward for a fuller appearance, without adding volume. It’s a subtle, reversible option for those not ready for filler.

Smile Lines and Perioral Lines

Carefully placed Botox relaxes the muscles that contribute to fine lines around the lips, softening their appearance while preserving natural facial movement.

Downturned Corners of the Mouth

A small muscle at each corner of the mouth pulls downward, and over time it can win, leaving a resting expression that reads as tired or unhappy regardless of how you feel. Relaxing that muscle lets the corners sit level again. It is a small change that patients notice in photographs immediately.

Chin Tension and Dimpling

A tight chin muscle produces a puckered or orange-peel texture and can push the lower lip upward, throwing off the balance of the lower face. Treating it smooths the chin and often improves how the lips sit together at rest.

Jawline Slimming

Years of heavy chewing or clenching can enlarge the masseter muscles at the back of the jaw, squaring off the lower face. Botox reduces that bulk gradually over several weeks, producing a softer and more tapered jawline. This is a cosmetic contouring treatment, and results build across two or three treatment cycles rather than appearing at once.

Frown Lines, Forehead Lines, and Crow’s Feet

The vertical lines between the brows, the horizontal lines across the forehead, and the fine lines at the outer corners of the eyes all come from repeated muscle movement rather than from the skin itself. Relaxing those muscles softens the lines and slows new ones from forming. These are the areas most people picture when they think of Botox, and they pair naturally with the smile-area treatments above for a result that looks balanced across the whole face.

Botox as the Finishing Touch on Cosmetic Dentistry

Most patients who ask us about Botox are already partway through something else: whitening, bonding on a chipped tooth, a new crown on a front tooth. The dental work fixes the teeth. Botox addresses the frame around them.

Planning both together tends to produce a better result than treating them separately, because the lip position we aim for with Botox depends on how much tooth is showing after the dental work is finished. If you are considering cosmetic treatment, mention Botox at the planning stage rather than afterward.

Your Appointment, Step by Step

  1. Consultation. We look at your face at rest and in motion, ask what bothers you, and review your medical history and medications. Bring a photograph if there is a particular expression you want to discuss.
  2. Options laid out. You will hear what is realistic for your situation, which areas we would suggest treating, what it costs, and what the alternatives are. Then you decide, without pressure.
  3. Mapping. We mark the injection points and set the dose for each one. Dosing is conservative on a first visit by design, because adding a little more at the two-week check is easy and taking it away is not.
  4. Treatment. A very fine needle delivers small amounts into the marked muscles. Most patients describe a brief pinch. The appointment itself runs ten to twenty minutes.
  5. Straight back to your day. There is no recovery period. You can drive yourself home and return to work.
  6. Two-week review. We see you once the full effect has developed, assess the result together, and add a small amount if any area needs it.

When You Will See It and How Long It Lasts

Botox is not immediate. Most patients notice a change within three to five days, with the full effect settling at around two weeks. Results generally last three to four months in the mouth and lip area, and somewhat longer for jawline treatment.

Timing matters if you have an event in mind. Book roughly three to four weeks ahead of a wedding, reunion, or photographs, which leaves room for the two-week review and any small adjustment.

Who Is a Good Candidate

Cosmetic Botox suits most healthy adults. It may be worth discussing if you have:

  • Lines around the mouth or lips that bother you in photographs
  • A smile that shows more gum than you would like
  • An upper lip that thins or disappears when you smile
  • Corners of the mouth that turn down at rest
  • A puckered or tense chin
  • A lower face that has squared off over the years

Botox is not appropriate during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or for patients with certain neuromuscular conditions such as myasthenia gravis or ALS. We review your full medical history first, and if this is not right for you we will say so plainly.

Curious Whether This Is Right for You?

Then come and ask. If you are unsure whether cosmetic Botox suits you, or unsure about this practice, we are happy to meet with you free of charge and talk it through. No obligation and no pressure. You will leave knowing what your options actually are, including the option of doing nothing.

Frequently Asked Questions About Cosmetic Botox

Will I look frozen or unnatural?

Not if it is dosed properly. That look comes from too much product in the wrong places, and it is particularly avoidable around the mouth where small amounts go a long way. We start conservatively and review you at two weeks, which means the worst case on a first visit is that we add a little more, rather than you waiting three months for something to wear off.

Is Botox safe?

Botox has been in clinical use for decades and is among the most studied treatments in medicine, with FDA approval for cosmetic use. Safety in practice comes down to technique. Dose, depth, and placement determine the outcome, which is why it matters who is holding the syringe and what training they have had.

Does it hurt?

Most patients report a brief pinch and mild pressure, and nothing more. The needle is very fine and each injection takes a couple of seconds. If needles bother you, we can use a topical numbing agent or ice beforehand.

What does it cost?

Cost depends on how many units your treatment needs, which varies by area and by your muscle strength. A lip flip uses very few units. Jawline slimming uses considerably more. You will have a clear figure at your consultation before anything is booked.

Does insurance cover cosmetic Botox?

No. Cosmetic treatment is not covered by dental or medical insurance, and we would not suggest otherwise. We will give you the full cost up front so there are no surprises.

What is the difference between Botox and fillers?

They do opposite jobs. Botox relaxes a muscle so it moves less, which softens lines caused by movement. Filler adds volume to restore fullness or plump a lip. A thin upper lip needs filler. An upper lip that tightens and disappears when you smile needs Botox. Some patients eventually use both, and knowing which problem you actually have is what the consultation is for.

Is there anything I need to avoid afterward?

Very little. For the rest of the day, stay upright rather than lying flat, skip strenuous exercise, and avoid rubbing or massaging the treated areas so the product stays where it was placed. You can eat, drink, and go back to work straight away.

How often will I need treatment?

Plan on three to four times a year for the mouth and lip area. Jawline treatment can often be spaced further apart once the muscle has reduced in size. Many patients find their intervals lengthen over the first year or two.

Are there side effects?

Usually minor and short lived: a small bruise, tenderness at the injection site, or a mild headache in the first day or two. Around the mouth, too much product can temporarily affect how you form certain sounds or drink from a straw. This is why conservative first-visit dosing is our standard approach, and it resolves on its own if it happens.
